‘Science and technology can strengthen India-China ties’

Noida, April 19 (IANS) Synergies between India and China in the field of science and technology can strengthen ties between the two Asian giants, China’s Science and Technology Minister Wan Gang said Friday.

Wan Gang was speaking at the launch ceremony of ‘Amity and China Top Universities Science and Technology Network’ held at the Amity University’s campus here.

Under the programme, in the first phase the Amity University would collaborate with 51 Chinese universities for research in various fields. More Chinese institutions would be brought under the network in the future.

The Chinese science and technology minister, who was leading a 10-member delegation from that country, said that India and China can collaborate in areas like IT, biotechnology, agriculture, natural sciences, earthquake research, disaster management, green energy and stem cell research.

The minister applauded the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, talented students and research and development oriented faculty members.
