Kolkata, April 3 (IANS) The Delhi Daredevils, ahead of their match against Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening game of the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Wednesday wished a speedy recovery to teammate Jesse Ryder who was seriously injured in an assault.
In a video message, the entire Daredevils squad led by skipper Mahela Jaywardene wished Ryder a speedy recovery.
“Hi Jesse, glad that you are out of danger, we all wish you a speedy recovery and get well soon. We all miss you here but hopefully you will get better soon,” Jayawardene said in the video uploaded by the team on Youtube.
The badly battered New Zealand cricketer Wednesday was discharged from hospital.
The 28-year-old was attacked outside a bar in Christchurch March 28 and spent over two days in an induced coma.
Daredevils play the Knight Riders in the IPL season opener Wednesday evening at the Eden Gardens here.
