Madrid, April 21 (IANS) Real Madrid opened a six-point gap to third-placed Atletico Madrid with a 3-1 win over Real Betis in Spanish La Liga.
Real Madrid are in second place in the league standings, six points ahead of Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand.
Atletico play Sevilla later Sunday and a victory here for them will mean that the deficit will come down to three points.
Barcelona are the runaway leaders and have all but won the league.
