Mumbai, April 25 (IANS) Controversy queen Rakhi Sawant is set to contest the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) elections 2013. Her motto is to “change the system” to make things better for artists.
CINTAA elections are conducted every two years.
Talking about the problems faced by artists and her aim, she said: “Artists are not being given their due respect. They are committing suicide, they are not getting their payment. They are in great distress and that’s why, along with my group, I am contesting election.”
The 34-year-old item girl was speaking at a press conference here Wednesday.
“I wish, we win these elections and change the entire system,” she added.
Rakhi promises to resign if she fails to address the issues successfully, if elected.
“I promise if we would fail to bring the necessary changes in the system as per ‘Rakhi’s Agenda’, I will resign. We want to win only to serve you,” said the actress who came into limelight in 2003 after her item number “Mohabbat hai mirchi” in “Chura Liya Hai Tumne”.
