Lucknow, 21 April (IANS) Five goals by Jasjeet Kaur helped Railways to enter the quarterfinals of the third Hockey India Women’s National Championship with a 16-0 win against Tamil Nadu in Pool A at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium here Sunday.
The scorers for Railways were Jasjeet Kaur (7, 9, 19, 37, 41 minutes), Own Goal (17), Binita Xess (23, 44, 51), Ranjita (31, 53), Joydeep Kaur (14), Apoorva (30), Jamila Bano (45), Laurenua Kerketta (47) and Rosalind L. Ralte (58).
In another match, Himachal Pradesh beat Tripura 12-0 in Pool G. Goal scorers for Himachal Pradesh were Nisha (10, 13, 44 minutes), Sonia Jr. (19, 22, 69), Pooja (23, 57), Dimple (26, 33), Sonia Sr. (67) and Ritu (31).
Meanwhile, Jharkhand defeated Goa 17-0 in Pool C. Jharkhand, who led 8-0 at half time, scored through Nisha Rani (9, 19, 35, 40, 46 minutes), Kanti Pradhan (10, 64), Punita Minz (12, 58), Shilwanti Minjur (23), Basanti Kachhap (24), Own Goal (29), Sabnam Lakra (37), Anita Swansi (41, 44, 60) and Ebha Kerketta (68).
Andhra Pradesh got a walkover from Arunachal Pradesh in Pool E.
