New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) A day after Rahul Gandhi shared his views with industry leaders on development, the Congress Friday said he has given a direction to progress.
“Rahul Gandhi has given a direction. His speech was thoughtful and farsighted. We hope the government will take note of it,” Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi told reporters.
He said Rahul Gandhi, who was made Congress vice president at the Jaipur conclave in January, has taken his ideas on politics and development forward.
“He said no single person could develop the country and it was needed to take everyone together. He also said power should be decentralised” said Alvi.
The Congress spokesperson also said that there was no contradiction between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party leaders on the issue of a twin power centre in the ruling UPA.
“There is no contradiction in what the prime minister has said and what party leaders said,” said Alvi.
