Bangalore, April 2 (IANS) QNET India, pioneers in direct selling, will sponsor the Indian Davis Cup Team for the Asia Oceania Group I Davis Cup relegation play-off scheduled to be held at the KSLTA stadium here April 5 to 7.
QNET has traditionally endeavored to support promising talented sports people across the world, and also here in India. Chetan Korada, the only Formula 4 race car driver in India with two prosthetic legs has been a QNET-sponsored driver in the past.
Internationally, QNET sponsors former Sri Lanka cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan and Thai golfer Thongchai Jaidee as Product Ambassadors.
Suresh Thimiri, MD and CEO, Transview Enterprise, franchisee of QNET in India said here Tuesday: “I believe Indian sports to be on a positive state of transition and factors like higher expendable income, changing lifestyle and opening of traditional markets, all have a role to play. Sponsoring sports and sportsmen is our way of contributing and catalysing this change.”
Vice president of the KSLTA and vice chairman of the organizing committee M Laxminarayana, who is also the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister of Karnataka, said: “We appreciate QNET’s support for the Indian Davis Cup team for this round of play-off. A symbiotic partnership between the corporate, government and sports fraternity is the only way forward to build sports in India.”
