New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) Congress’ Karnataka unit chief G.Parameshwar, legislative party leader Siddaramaiah and state women’s wing chief Manjula Naidu figure in the first list of 177 assembly poll candidates announced by the party Friday.
While Parameshwar will fight from Koratagere reserved seat, Siddaramaiah will contest from Varuna assembly constituency and Naidu would contest from Rajaji Nagar as per the list announced by the Congress here.
Former state party chief R.V. Deshpande will contest from Haliyal.
Eight women have been given ticket in the first list.
Congress sources said the candidates for the remaining 47 seats would be announced in a few days.
Karnataka will vote May 5 for the 224 members of the 225-member assembly. One member is nominated. The results would be out May 8.
