New Delhi, April 13 (IANS) Compared to 2011, Delhi witnessed 259 more fire calls in 2012 with 22,786 incidents, said Delhi Fire Service (DFS) Saturday.
A fire service official said that the department received a total of 22,786 calls in the last fiscal compared to 22,441 in 2011-12 and 22,187 in 2010-11.
In 2008-09, the figure was 16,452 while it rose sharply to 21,314 in 2010-11.
“Out of 22,786 fire incidents, nine were medium in nature and two serious,” said DFS chief A.K. Sharma.
