Guwahati, April 9 (IANS) A man was killed and five others were injured in human-animal conflicts in two incidents in Assam’s Morigaon district, officials said Tuesday.
Jogen Doley was killed after being attacked by a rhino in the Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon district Tuesday, officials said.
A resident of a fringe village of the sanctuary, Doley entered the forest to collect firewood.
In another incident, five people were mauled by a tiger that strayed into a populated sandbar of the Brahmaputra river in the district Tuesday morning.
The incident took place at Boralimari.
