Mumbai, April 16 (IANS) The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) will host a three-day pharma convention from April 24, an official said Tuesday.
Titled iPHEX 2013, the convention is being organised with the support of the commerce and industry ministry, department of commerce, and the central government. The convention will have 200 stalls by Indian pharma companies and over 5,000 business visitors, including overseas buyers.
“Indian pharma industry would immensely get benefited as there would be over 400 genuine pharma buyers/drug regulators from various countries and exhibitors would be having one-to-one meetings with them,” said P.V. Appaji, director general of Pharmexcil.
Over 40 senior regulators from 20 countries like Ghana, Tanzania, Senegal, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines and others will also join the convention.
Bhavin Mehta, committee chief of iPHEX, said that the convention will be a platform to showcase the diverse range of products.
“Technical seminars will be organised during the convention where the invited drug regulators will make presentations on drug regulatory procedures of their countries,” he said.
