New Delhi, April 14 (IANS) Delhi had a cloudy Sunday and a sprinkling of shower in some parts as the mercury again climbed back above 36 degrees Celsius. The weather office has forecast mercury would rise further Monday.
The maximum temperature Sunday at 36.1 degrees appeared to be rising, though fractionally, over the past two days. It stood at 35.6 degrees on Saturday and Friday, and at 36.1 degrees on Thursday. On Wednesday, it was 37 degrees.
Sunday’s maximum temperature was a degree above what is an average for this time of the season.
“The weather will remain cloudy Monday with the maximum temperature likely to be around 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 21 degrees,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The minimum temperature Sunday was 21.9 degrees Celsius, which was a degree above the average for this time of the year.
The weather department recorded 1.6 mm of rainfall till 8:30 a.m.
Humidity levels saw a high of 65 percent and a low of 24 percent.
Saturdays’ maximum temperature at 35.6 degrees Celsius was what is an average for this time of year, while the minimum was 21.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above average.
