Manchester, April 11 (IANS) A 25-member FICCI-Libero Sports India delegation, which is in Britain for the Soccerex European Forum, were treated to a presentation and Etihad Stadium tour by Premier League champions Manchester City.
The delegation was greeted Tuesday by Manchester City legend Mike Summerbee prior to the presentation on the international business objectives by senior members of the club. Post the presentation and the stadium tour it headed for Manchester Central to experience the world’s largest football business event, Soccerex.
The delegation will host a panel discussion Thursday night on ‘India: Awakening Football’s Sleeping Giant; the Rising Billion’ which will include a discussion about the importance of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup by Vivek Narayan, director in the ministry of youth affairs and sports.
The Indian delegation to Soccerex is an initiative by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Libero Sports India to connect key industry stakeholders with the global football community.
During the two-day forum, the delegation will have an exclusive exhibition stall to conduct meetings and showcase some of the key initiatives currently taking place within the Indian football landscape.
