New York, April 20 (IANS) Singer Lauryn Hill will soon face eviction from her New Jersey home after allegedly falling behind with her rent.
The 37-year-old, who is facing a possible prison sentence for failing to file tax returns, reportedly stopped making payments for her mansion in South Orange, New Jersey last month.
Her landlord has taken the case to court and is demanding the singer pays the pending rent or faces eviction from the property, reports tmz.com.
The star has been in the rented property since 2009.
Hill is accused of owing more than 1 million pounds to tax authorities and faces up to three years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of failing to file her returns between 2005 and 2007.
A judge will announce her sentence April 22, but she has asked for probation instead of jail time, so that she can work towards paying off her tax debts.
