Gurgaon, April 11 (IANS) The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) Thursday sealed four Gurgaon petrol vends, including one allotted to a Kargil martyr’s family, for not paying rent dues, an official said.
One of the sealed vends, S.S. Filling Station in Sector 12A, is owned by the 1999 Kargil conflict martyr S.S. Yadav’s widow and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Sudha Yadav.
The land for the pump was provided by the HUDA April 6, 2004, on a 15-year lease. It owed a rent of over Rs.97.12 lakh, HUDA sources said.
Sudha Yadav alleged a pick and choose approach by the HUDA in action against petrol pumps which have defaulted on rent.
The other three petrol vends which were sealed are in Sector 18 with dues of over Rs.2.45 crore, Sector 9A with dues of over Rs.1.12 crore, and in Sector 37 with dues of over Rs.2.34 crore.
The sealing operation was carried out by Sub-divisional Engineer Ratan Singh Siwach.
