Indian woman in Bahrain with burn injuries stable

Dubai, April 22 (IANS) The condition of an Indian woman in Bahrain, who sustained severe burn injuries during a clash between police and protesters April 19, is said to be improving, reports said Monday.

Priya D’Souza sustained 60 percent burns but her condition is now stable, reported the local media quoting sources.

D’Souza was returning home from a cold store April 19 evening when she got caught in the middle of a clash between police and protestors at Isa Al-Kabeer Avenue in Manama, Bahrain’s capital.

When the protestors started hurling Molotov cocktails at the police, D’Souza and another Asian expatriate sustained injuries.

According to the Gulf Daily News, D’Souza was first taken to Salmaniya Medical Complex’s intensive care unit, but was later shifted to the burns ward.
