Mumbai, April 29 (IANS) Hindustan Unilever, India’s largest manufacturer of consumer goods and household products, Monday said its net profit increased 41 percent to Rs.3,796.67 crore for the year ended March 31.
The company posted a net profit of Rs.3,796.67 crore for the financial year 2012-13 as compared to Rs.2,691.40 crore recorded in the previous year, registering an increase of 41.06 percent, Hindustan Unilever, Indian arm of the Anglo-Dutch firm Unilever, said in a statement.
For the January-March quarter, the company’s net profit increased by 15 percent at Rs.787 crore.
The company’s total income rose to Rs.26,417.11 crore for the year ended March 31, 2013 as compared to Rs.22,394.68 crore recorded in the previous year.
Share price of Hindustan Unilever surged 6.42 percent at Rs.495 at the Bombay Stock Exchange, as the company’s results beat market expectations.
