Sepang (Malaysia), April 9 (IANS) Delhi based Keshav Gattani finished 10th in Heat 2 of seniors category in the Asia Rotax Max Championship.
The second round of the championship was held April 7-8 at the Sepang Karting Circuit here.
Gattani’s effort makes him the first Indian to break into the top-10 of this championship.
Meco Racing Firm India team principal Akbar Ebrahim said, “(He) put in a good performance in the official test and qualified the round. In spite of the few mistakes in the first heat which set Keshav back, he did well in the second heat to finish 10th. He is in a strong position to capitalise on the pre-finals tomorrow.”
Rotax Max Challenge is raced in countries all over the world and culminates in a final race where the top drivers are invited to take part to determine the overall Max Challenge champions.
The final is held towards the end of the year pitting champions against each other to determine the Rotax World Champion. Close to 300 drivers from over 50 countries participate at the finals.
