Lucknow, April 3 (IANS) Four sisters were sprayed with acid by bike-borne assailants when the girls were returning home from a coaching centre in Uttar Pradesh, police said Wednesday.
Kanwar Jahan, Aisha, Sonam and Isha were attacked late Tuesday in the Kandhla area of Shamli town, 525 km from here, police said.
Superintendent of Police Abdul Hamid told IANS that the assailants were wearing helmets and hence could not be identified.
Kanwar Jahan was critically injured while her sisters received minor acid burns, police said.
