Lucknow, April 5 (IANS) Five people, including a woman, sustained injuries when a fire broke out in a Noida village late Thursday night, police said. The incident took place after a gas cylinder leak in the Naya Bans village in Sector 20 of Noida.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Noida Pritender Singh told IANS that the fire broke out in the house of a man identified as Ganesh Thakur. The injured were identified as Thakur, Bobby, Kiran, Nityanshu and Priyan.
The police official said the fire raged as there were gusty winds at the time, slowing down the operations of the fire brigade.
By afternoon Friday, the injured, who had earlier been admitted to a local medical facility, were referred to Delhi. The burn injuries were severe and the condition of the victims had worsened by the afternoon, police officials said.
