New Delhi, April 24 (IANS) A Delhi police sub-inspector shot himself dead with his service revolver near a Metro station here Wednesday evening, police said.
“Narinder Samhota, posted at Karol Bagh Metro station, was found with a gun injury in his forehead near Sector 14 Dwarka Metro station,” said a police officer.
He was taken to a hospital where declared dead on arrival.
Police said a passerby who saw Samhota shooting himself informed the police.
“The case is being investigated to ascertain the reason behind this extreme step,” the officer said.
Samhota, a 2008 batch officer, was a resident of Dwarka.
