Jaipur, April 5 (IANS) Curfew was clamped in some parts of the Rajasthan capital Friday, a day after over 20 people, including a dozen policemen, were injured following a violent clash between two communities, an officer said.
A senior police officer said that the prohibitory orders have been imposed in Sanganer area where a minor dispute between people from two communities over parking had turned violent.
People Thursday hurled stones on the policemen who were trying to control the situation, torched a factory and damaged over a dozen cars, they added.
In the stone pelting Thursday, several police officers including Jaipur’s acting Commissioner of Police Biju Gorge Joseph, an additional deputy commissioner of police and an assistant commissioner of police sustained injuries, the officer added.
Police Friday registered 12 different first information reports (FIRs) against several people for rioting and damaging public property.
