Gurgaon, April 13 (IANS) Gurgaon Police Commissioner Alok Mittal Saturday said the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Delhi-Gurgaon expressway operator were the big hurdles in ending traffic jams on the stretch.
“The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon, the Haryana Urban Development Authority and the Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation are cooperating to end the traffic jams but the NHAI and expressway operator are blunting their efforts,” Mittal said here.
The police chief, while addressing road safety volunteers, said a lot of road re-engineering was needed for fighting traffic jams at Hero Honda, Rajiv, Jharsa, IFFCO and Shanker crossings.
He said that the NHAI had remained silent on few requests made to them for checking traffic jams at Rajiv chowk and Signature Tower.
Expressway operator DGSCL never gave attention to the service lanes blocked due to rain water, disfunctional road and traffic signal lights and poor facilities for padestrians that have added to jams, he said.
