Beijing, April 22 (IANS) The magnitude-7.0 earthquake in China’s Sichuan province which has killed a total of 186 people and injured 8,761 since Saturday, has also damaged 102 cultural relics protection units, authorities said Sunday.
The units comprise 24 sites at national level and 61 at provincial level, reported Xinhua citing state administration of cultural heritage.
The temblor has also damaged another 12 museums, where 274 cultural relics items have been affected, it added.
Till Sunday evening, a total of 1,339 aftershocks had been monitored in the epicentre of Lushan county. Four of them measured between 5.0 to 5.9 on the Richter scale.
Provincial health workers in Sichuan have treated 8,761 people wounded, with 1,397 hospitalised, according to the National Health and Family Planning Commission.
