Bangalore, April 3 (IANS) State-run Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) posted sales turnover of Rs.6,010 crore (Rs.60 billion/$1.1 billion) for the just-concluded fiscal 2012-13, registering a five percent growth over previous fiscal (2011-12) at Rs.5,704 crore (Rs.57 billion).
According to the company’s provisional results for the fiscal under review (FY 2013), export revenue declined to $35 million from $38.5 million in the previous fiscal (2011-12) and $42 million in 2010-11.
“With a healthy order book of about Rs.25,000 crore, the company is set to continue its good run in the new fiscal year (2013-14),” the defence behemoth said in a statement Wednesday.
The company unveiled 10 new products in the areas of radar and fire control, sonars, electronic warfare, communication, tank electronics and electro optics.
Among orders executed during the last fiscal are Akash weapon system, radar and fire control systems, national command control communication and intelligence, national population register and passive night vision devices.
