Khopoli (Maharashtra), April 15 (IANS) Launching theme entertainment park Adlabs Imagica here Monday, a company official said their main concern was to open a facility with affordable prices which the Indian audience could pay for.
“We had to set up a theme park which was affordable to Indian families. I think we have succeeded in doing that. Our only focus was that it should be affordable,” said Manmohan Shetty, chairman of Adlabs Entertainment, at the launch in the evening.
The park is indeed a colourful experience with different zones ranging from theme activities, challenging rides and rides for children among others.
With a ride based on popular film, “Mr India” called “Mr India-The Ride”, the park included “I for India” which provided the audience with a helicopter view of India, “Cinema 360-price of dark waters” and “Rajasaurus River Adventure” among others.
The park is based in Khopoli, between Pune and Mumbai.
“We wanted to put it in between Bombay and Pune. We can see growth happening here…plus this place was available,” he said.
Shetty also emphasised on the fact that the themes have Indian content. “We haven’t copied anything from anyone,” he said.
He also added that they planned to add one attraction every year, if the park was liked by people.
“We have started with 21 attractions. We plan to add one attraction every year. If people like it, this will encourage us more,” he said.
“My expectation is about 30 lakh people a year. If this works out then we will keep expanding,” he said.
