ABVP hold border protest, burn China flag

Shimla: Angered by the muted response of the Indian government towards the incursions made by the Chinese army in Ladhak region, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad held a protest demonstration at the Himachal Pradesh University campus, earlier today.

The protesting youngsters also burnt a Chinese national flag on the occasion.

Blaming the Manmohan Singh government for not taking the issue of Chinese forces camping much inside the line of control in the Daulat Beg Old Area of Ladhak seriously, the students said that the prime minister terming it a localized issue was only finding lame excuses.

The UPA government is so embroiled in corruption issues that there is no one to pay attention to disturbances on the border, said Kushal Kaundal, president ABVP while leading the protest.

Action taken by UPA government was not enough, he added. “The incursion has been made possible only because of India being a soft state  and ABVP will continue to protest against it,” said Kushal.

Demand stern action against the Chinese government, which included business interests, other youth leaders who spoke on the occasion included Navneet Kaushal, Ajay Thakur, Ajay Negi, Dinesh Kumar and others.
