Abu Dhabi, April 5 (IANS/WAM) A new 1.5-km-long beach will open to the public in Abu Dhabi in August.
Construction of the beach, which runs along a section of the Corniche, began three years ago, said Nahla Al Muhairi, head of the events and beaches section at Abu Dhabi Municipality.
The new beach will be free and open to everyone – men, women and families.
There are also plans to offer more activities as a whole, although a section will be kept just for swimming, away from distractions.
“There is a big demand for sports activities so that’s why we are working on a plan of bringing a lot of sports activities and boats, kayaks and all this stuff to the beach,” said Al Muhairi.
