10 militants killed in Afghan raids

Kabul, April 14 (IANS) Ten Taliban militants have been killed in military operations across Afghanistan Since Saturday, the interior ministry said Sunday.

“Afghan National Police (ANP) supported by the army and the NATO-led coalition forces conducted several clean-up operations in Kunar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Khost, Paktia, Badghis and Helmand provinces over the past 24 hours,” an official statement said.

“As a result 10 armed Taliban were killed and three other armed Taliban were arrested,” Xinhua reported citing the statement.

Statistics released by the ministry showed, a total of 77 militants had been killed and over 100 detained during military operations since beginning of this month across the country.
