Moscow, March 31 (IANS) Russia’s national biathlon coaching crew will be reshuffled before the Sochi Winter Olympics next year, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said Sunday.
“We will make overall conclusions on the federation and the men’s team will undergo certain adjustment,” Mutko said in televised comments.
He also indicated new recruitments in the women’s team, which failed to win a single medal at last month’s world championships held in the Czech Republic, reports Xinhua.
“We will strengthen the women’s coaching staff. You will find out how in the near future,” the official said.
Mutko noted the results in the world championship, a bronze and a silver medals from the men’s team, were not too bad. “In general, the team was not in a bad shape at the worlds,” he said.
The 22nd Winter Olympic Games to be held in Russia Black Sea resort of Sochi next year will open Feb 7 and run through Feb 23.
