New Delhi, March 30 (IANS) Former India international Anadi Barua Saturday was appointed the national coach of the women’s football team.
Barua, a former Delhi coach, first assignment with the women’s team will be the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) womens Asian Cup qualifier rounds to be held in Palestine.
In January 2013, the women’s team had defeated a formidable Dutch team at home.
Barua is also All India Football Federation (AIFF) selector in various U-11, 12, 14, 16, 21 age group and the senior national championships for the Santosh Trophy.
The women’s camp will start from April 1 in Pune. The team will be visiting Nepal, Bahrain before moving to Palestine.
