New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today said that it would soon be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Pakistani university to increase cooperation in education between the two nations.
A task force of faculty members from the IGNOU and the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) from Pakistan will be constituted soon to “map out a comprehensive scheme of collaboration”.
AIOU Vice Chancellor Nazir A. Sangi met IGNOU Vice Chancellor Gopinath Pradhan and discussed using information, communication and technology (ICT) applications to serve the needs of students in rural areas.
“It was agreed that faculty and student exchange programmes should be started between the two universities… cooperation in the education sector will go a long way in strengthening the relations between the two countries,” the statement said.
