Shimla: Six persons including five youth were killed when a jeep carrying them fell down in deep gorge at Panch Nalah area near district headquarter Kullu in the dark news of last night, 150 km from here, police source confirmed.
The ill-fated Tata Sumo carrying six persons enroute to Jorang village from Kullu fell down in a deep gorge at Panchnalah last mid night killing all onboard.
The cause of accident was yet to be ascertained. Most of the deceased were young and belonged to Tailang, Kalanvan, and Dokhari villages.
The deceased were identified as Gopal and Khimi Ram(both 22 yrs and resident of Tailang village). Vijay Thakur(22) hailed to Kalanvan village, Moti chand(36), Bhoj Raj(18) and Shayam Chand(51) hailed to Dokhari village. The police have registered the case and find the cause of accident.
It must be noted that lately a lot many accidents have been taking place in the state because of vehicle overloading and poor conditions of the roads in almost every district.
With assembly elections round the corner, the governing party might find itself in an uncomfortable position because of these frequent accidents.
