Chamba: A man named Muzafer Khan S/o Sahaboodeen shot dead his wife, Rina Begum D/o Abdul in Tissa at around 7am this morning. The incident took place in village Dangoo PO Khushnagri Tehsil Churaha, about 5km from Tissa on Pangi Road. Rina Begun was 19 years old.
It appears that the she received a close range shot (4-6 feet) from a single barrel country made rifle (Charre in local dialect) , causing death on the spot. The post mortem was carried out at the Tissa Civil Hospital. According to the post mortem report, close shot, pallet entered through right breast between 5th and 6th intercostal space damaging aorta, left lower lung and striking the posterior 8th 9th ribs of left side.
Earlier, DSP Salooni arrived at the spot and started investigations. The motive of the murder is not yet clear. The accused surrendered this afternoon. The couple, both from the same village, had got married just about a month ago.
