Chandigarh: At least 30 senior police officers, including 11 district police chiefs, were transferred by the Punjab government Sunday, a spokesman of the chief minister’s office said here.
The transferred officers include three additional directors general of police (ADGPs), two inspector generals (IGs) and four deputy inspector generals (DIGs).
ADGP Jasminder Singh will now head the crime wing in the state while ADGP C.S.R. Reddy will be in-charge of provisioning and information technology (IT). ADGP R.P. Meena, who headed the railways wing, has been transferred to the prisons department.
Amritsar Commissioner of Police R.P. Mittal has been posted as IG-border range at Amritsar in place of Ram Singh, who is the new commissioner of police at Amritsar.
Ludhiana deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Ashish Chaudhary will now be senior superintendent of police (SSP) in Ludhiana (rural) in place of Gurpreet Singh Toor, who is the new DCP-Ludhiana.
