Sonia Gandhi to decide next Himachal CM – GS Bali

Dharamsala: Steering clear over a naming of a chief ministerial candidate a few months before the general assembly election here, senior Congress leader GS Bali said that none other than party president Sonia Gandhi would take the decision as to who would be chief minister of Himachal after the results of the elections.

Talking to reporters before tomorrow’s planned public rally here Bali said that Congress was gearing up to wrest power from BJP in the state.

Both union ministers, Anand Sharma and Virbhadra Singh, would be escorted by big motorcades to the Dari, the ground where Congress is to hold its rally tomorrow, he said.

While Sharma who is to arrive from Delhi, would be received at the airport, Virbhadra would be escorted from a hotel at Jwalamukhi, said the Congress leader.

All senior leaders which include state party president Kaul Singh, leader of the opposition Vidya Stokes, MPs, MLAs and party incharge for Himachal Birender Singh Chaudhary would be participating in the rally, he said.

The Dharamsala public rally is the first in a series of four big rallies planned to be held in all the four parliamentary segments of the state. Finally a big rally would be held at which party president Sonia Gandhi would be present, said Bali.
