Shimla: Public sector power generation company SJVN registered an 17 percent increase in net profit from last years Rs 912.13 crore to Rs 1068.68 crore, which is the highest ever, and total revenues registered an increase by 5 percent from Rs 1829.74 crore, last year, to Rs 1927.5 crore in 2011-12.
The board meeting held at Delhi on Monday to finalize the 2011-12 years account recommended a dividend payout of Rs 0.94 per share.
Total dividend payout to be paid by the company for the year is Rs 451 crore, the highest ever to be paid by the company.
For the fiscal 2010-11 SJVN had paid a total dividend of Rs 330.93 crore as against Rs 328.20 crore paid for 2009-10.
Profit before tax also registered an increase of more than 16.4% at Rs 1345.89 crore against Rs 1156.19 crore during the last fiscal.
Earnings per share increased from Rs 2.12 to Rs 2.58 during the financial year.
In 2011-12, SJVN from its 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station generated a record 7610 million units of electricity that was 470 million units more than the previous year.
Plant availability factor during the year also had increased to 104.26% against 98% during the previous year.
The central government holds 64.47% equity in SJVN, Himachal Pradesh government holds 25.50% and the balance 10.03% shareholding is with the public.
