Shimla: Temperatures plummeted after a bout of light rain here and in the surrounding hills while the higher reaches reported a moderate round of snowfall on today.
The weatherman reported that at Sach Pass in Chamba district , a thick cover of 30 centimeter snow was recorded while at Rohtang Pass about 15 cms of snow had accumulated.
Snow was also reported from other parts of Pangi valley in Chamba and at Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti.
Spring rains at Manali, Shimla and Dharamsala lowered day temperatures substantially.
The met office has forecast more rain accompanied by thunder in some parts of lower and mid hills and snow in the higher reaches over the next 24 hours.
