Shimla: Police stumbled upon the dead body of a middle aged man thrown into bushes in a city suburb on Thursday morning.
The dead man was identified as Devender Sharma (42), son of Bala Dutt and a resident of Sangrah in Sirmaur district.
A police spokesman said that the body recovered from Totu area had injuries on the head, neck and face. “It appeared man had been battered to death with a stone,†he said.
A forensic team was pressed into service and a dog squad was used to sniff out any trails from the murder site.
The body was found lying about 50 below the road to Bhariyal, police said.
A case under section CrPc 302 had been registered, a post mortem of the body was got conducted and investigations were being carried out, he added.
