Gadkari to launch ‘save Uttar Pradesh’ campaign

Lucknow : With an eye to the assembly polls next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a campaign in Uttar Pradesh from Dec 1 against the alleged “corrupt practices” of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government, a party official said Wednesday.

“The campaign would primarily be marked by public meetings in all the 75 districts of the state to expose misuse of public funds by the chief minister,” state BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak told reporters here.

The campaign – “BJP lao, Pradesh bachao (Bring BJP, save Uttar Pradesh)” – would be launched by party president Nitin Gadkari from Behat assembly constituency in Saharanpur district.

“Be it corruption in land acquisition, the multi-crore scam in projects governed by the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) or mounting of pressure on upright officials or hindering their work, during the 15 days of our campaign we will try to raise every issue related to misgovernance of Mayawati,” he added.
