Delhi: Election commission of India announced bye-elections for 9 assembly constituencies spread across seven states for November 30th which includes the two seats of Himachal Pradesh, Nalagarh and Rainka (SC).
An election commission press release stating the schedule has fixed the last date for nominations at 12th November, scrutiny takes of papers takes place on 14th, withdrawal is permitted till 16th and polling would take place on 30th November.
Counting would be held on Sunday, 4th of December, the election communique states.
The Nalargarh seat fell vacant after BJP legislator Hari Naryan Saini died because of a critical illness and Rainka fell vacant as Dr Prem Singh the elected representative on a congress ticket died of heart failure.
Other states where the commission has announced elections for polling on 30th November include Kolkatta Dakshin seat in West Bengal, Raita (SC) and Adampur seat in Haryana, Umerkote (ST) seat in Orrissa, Bellary (ST) seat in Karnataka, Laukaha seat in Bihar and Mandu seat in Jharkhand.
