Shimla : Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) has started mobile services in three remote tribal villages located close to the Indo-China border in Himachal Pradesh’s mountainous Kinnaur district , Tuesday .
Namgyal , Khab and Tashigang are the three isolated villages where villagers can now access BSNL’s mobile services , a BSNL official told the Hill Post .
Until now there was no mobile service here due to security concerns . But locals have been pressing the government to connect the area by installing towers .
In July this year BSNL launched mobile services in the adjoining tribal district of Lahaul & Spiti by covering the Keylong-Udaipur-Tandi-Kilar road and the Batal-Losar-Kaza road .
This has not only benefited locals but a large number of tourists who visit this remote high mountain region in summer .
