Dharamsala : A three day conference of religious leaders and representatives of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon religion is underway in this northern Indian hill town , Thursday .
The Tibetan government-in-exile minister of religion and culture Pema Chhinjor expressed his gratitude to the religious leaders for working in accordance with the wishes of the Dalai Lama . And for their efforts towards promotion of Tibet’s rich and unique Buddhist cultural heritage .
He urged them to strengthen their efforts as the survival of Tibet and its unique religious tradition were in danger .
He said efforts needed to be taken to deal with the Chinese government’s machination in devising different regulations in recognising the incarnations of Lama and Tulkus .
Speaking on the occasion the prime minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile Lobsang Sangya spoke about his policies planned for five years ahead based on unity , innovation and self reliance towards resolving the issue of Tibet .
He said the Tibetan administration will continue to work towards resolving the issue through dialogue by firmly adhering to the middle-way policy . He said religion and culture was the soul and essence of the Tibetan people .
The Dalai Lama will address the second day of the conference on Friday .
