Shimla : People were taken by surprise when spring like thundershowers along with high velocity winds struck this popular resort town Friday evening considerably lowering the temperature.
Earlier in the day it was a usual muggy day with clouds and sunshine and the mercury rose to 24.6 C., a couple of notches above normal.
But then there was a sudden change in the weather towards evening, dark thick clouds gathered over Shimla and loud thunder claps ripped the air bringing with it light rain.
This was unusually followed by strong winds buffeting the town, so uncommon for this time of year and soon the clouds were blown away turning it into a rare cool starry night.
