Shimla : A woman in Himachal Pradesh first allegedly threw her three year old daughter into the Beas river and then jumped after her into the raging waters.
The incident took place near Jol village in Hamirpur district Monday, police and villagers are still looking for the missing duo downstream.
Newspaper reports quoted witnesses saying the 28 year old woman stopped on the bridge and spoke on her mobile phone before jumping into the river.
The woman was a local school teacher and three months ago lost her husband in an accident,reports said.
