Shimla :The latest burst of the monsoon has covered up the shortfall in rainfall in Himachal Pradesh this season with the hill state recording normal rainfall so far,the weather office said Wednesday.
“In HP during this monsoon season cumulative rainfall from 1 June to 17 August is 557.5 mm which is only 2 per cent less than the normal value,†said Manmohan Singh,director metrological department here.
At the end of last month there was a lot of concern in the state particularly among farmers as the rain deficit was 50 per cent.
Until now Una,Kinnaur and Kullu districts received excess rainfall,seven districts have recorded normal while Solan and Lahaul & Spiti distrcts were deficent.
Among towns Dharamsala has received the highest rainfall at 2226 mm which is 33 per cent more than normal.While Shimla has had 10 per cent less rain this season.
