Shimla : Heavy to moderate rainfall took place across Himachal Pradesh Saturday,while the season’s first snowfall fell on the Rohtang and Kunzum la passes cutting of the tribal Lahaul valley from the rest of the country.
By evening light snowfall had also taken place at Keylong, headquarters of the Lahaul valley.
Rainfall continued to lash much of the mid and lower hills of the state.Una district is the worst affected with the district recording the heaviest rainfall of 342 mm in 24 hours.The DC office building in Una town has been submerged,reports said.
Several bridges have been washed away at many places in other parts of the state.The Beas and the Sutlej rivers are in spate.The Manali national highway has once again been blocked due to landslides.
The weatherman says the wet weather will continue for the next four to five days in the hill state.At leaset six people have been killed in rain related incidents in the state in the last couple of day media reports said Sunday.
