Himachal scribes mourn death of two senior journalists

Shimla : The Himachal Journalists Forum has expressed grief over the demise of veteran journalist Rattan Singh Himesh and Prof TDS Alok a journalist and professor at the journalism department of Himachal Pradesh University.

“Mr Himesh was a unique journalist and was also known for his spoof humour and entertaining columns in newspapers. He also wrote folk plays with a typical lower Mahasu flavour,” said Kanwar Yogendra, President, Himachal Journalists Forum, here.

“Prof Alok a sauve and soft spoken man was a gentle and patient teacher. He had worked for various publications before joining the HP university’s teaching faculty,” Kanwar said.

Yes, it was indeed a very sad news of demise of Dr. TDS Alok, my mentor. I still remember how me and my friends used to have arguements with him on so many topics and he always used to tell us so many stories. At that time i used to find them all useless but now when i see myself as a professional,I can see what ever he told us actually helped us in the professional life. RIP sir, we all miss you a lot and I know what ever I am today, you have a very big contribution. University gave me the degree, but the real lesson of professional life, I took from you. I miss you sir!
