“UPA II is numb, paralyzed and short of words as far as corruption is concerned. With the number of scams like 2G, CWG and latest KG basin to the credit of UPA government, it has no moral right to remain in power,†said Thakur.
Listing out various failures of the central government, which included being soft of separatists, not acting tough against terrorists who even attacked parliament, poor getting a raw deal by being deprived of food where grains rot in poor storages farmers committing suicide, not being able to present a land acquisition bill in parliament and several other issues, the young MP said that the proposed Parliament Gherao was about prevailing rampant corruption and forcing the government to act in bringing back black money.
BJP was not against bringing the Prime Minister under the purview of Lok Pal bill he added.
However, when quizzed about Sushant raising corruption matters against the BJP government in the state, he said that the delinquent party MP had been issued a show cause notice for indulging in anti-party activities.
Acknowledging that Sushant’s actions were damaging the party and denying that BJP had adopted a double stance over corruption he said that ‘it was not without reason that the state government had won 43 awards in the last three years.â€
