Shimla: Public sector power generating company SJVN on Friday reported an of Rs 348.21 Cr for the April-June 2011 quarter, which is an increase of 20% profits over the corresponding quarter in the last year.
The financial results were finalized at the company’s board meeting held at New Delhi on Thursday. In the same quarter last year the company had a profit of Rs 290.76.
For the 1st quarter SJVN’s Earnings Per Share (EPS) have also increased to Rs 0.84 against Rs 0.70 over the corresponding quarter of last year.
The total income recorded during the quarter increased to Rs 553.57 crore against Rs 524.98 crore over the previous year’s corresponding quarter and the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power station generated 2650.53 million units (MU) of Electricity against last year’s 2424.57 MU.
During 2010-11, SJVN had registered a net profit of Rs 912.13 crore with an EPS of Rs. 2.21. The Company’s Profit Before Tax stood at Rs 1156.20 crore during 2010-11 as against Rs 1017.47 crore for the year 2009-10.
For 2010-11 SJVN has proposed a total dividend of Rs 330.93 crore as against Rs 328.20 crore paid in the previous year.
SJVN is a central government undertaking which has 65% shareholding, the Himachal Pradesh has a 25% shareholding in the company and the public hold 10 percent stake.
